Project Getty Foundation. The Palace of Venice in Rome and its collection of sculpture

The Getty Foundation has funded a research project on the collection and cataloging of sculptures preserved in the Museo Nazionale del Palazzo di Venezia in Rome. As for the wooden statues of the Palace of Venice, that is certainly the most important collection of wooden sculptures in Italy. First, in terms of quantity. Taking into account only the figurative works, there are over one hundred and seventy pieces. Ivalsa participated in the project through the identification of about a hundred wooden statues and bas-reliefs, also drawing up a report on the conservation status of the material.
